Brief Introduction

3 Ls of Yang Ming

Yang Ming Senior High School was founded on July 1, 1992. With the first principal, Mr. Lee Yh-chen’s retirement, Mr. Hsieh Yung-po succeeded the position to be the second principal. In 2006, after Mr. Hsieh transferred to National Chung-li Home Economic And Commercial Vocational High School, Mr. Lin Ching-po is the present principle. As a spiritual slogan, Mr. Lin encourages students in Yang Ming to “live with passion, learn with joy and leap with confidence.”

Magnificent School Buildings

At first glance, one notices Yang Ming Boulevard divides the 5-hectare campus into two distinct areas. On one side stand the magnificent classroom buildings; our spacious playground is situated on the other side. Surrounded by the grassy Jade Mountain Park, our school offers a fine learning environment for students.

High Quality Equipment

Excellent Staff

As of Fall Semester 2007, Yang Ming employed 134 teachers. Among our staff, 104 had master's degrees, one a Ph.D., 2 Ph.D. candidates and 30 have degrees. Their average age was 39.1. These young, inspiring, responsible, and experienced staff members interact well with one another and the student body.
Currently, our school instructs freshman-, junior- and senior-level classes totaling 60 classes per year, 20 per grade. Of these 20 classes, seventeen are ordinary classes, one Honors Math & Physics Class, one Honors Language Class, and one Honors Art Class. The 60 classes contained in 2007 a student number of 2588.

Study Hard and You Can Make It

We run a variety of projects to further the education of our students with the ultimate aim of helping them enter good colleges and universities. We invite professionals to give speeches on specified topics that meet student's different educational needs at different levels. Also included are simulations that evaluate student learning ability, an after-school remedial program, and continuing education classes in evenings. Our school has a remarkable rate of graduates entering colleges and universities. The recent years boast a 98% rate of acceptance to higher learning, Honors Arts Class, 100%, among which 46% of the students were admitted to a national college or university, including medical schools and dental schoolds.
